Language-Center Methods
This chapter Language-Center Methods emphasizes and
focuses on the linguistic that shaped the
language – center pedagogy. Language-center methods, involve and improve the
accumulation of experience and experimentation, emphasizing on habit formation,
in which according with Kumaradivelu, must be a pattern practice leading a
fluid and effective communication that can be simulated in real life situations,
selecting topics in a “carefully controlled context”. As in the chapter says, its an human learning focusing in audiolingual theory, which gives way to an inductive grammatical structure teaching, leaving outside the mistakes. Additionally, the chapter expose that it easy to train a lot of teachers
in the principles and procedures cof the language-centered methods of teaching,
and also this ways of Methods can be effecty in a fairly short period of time.To conclude the chapter mentioned compiled all his phases until it became a useful method in its time. Considering the works of behavioral phycologist, linguists and other people related to the teaching language, to a finally developed method, that some authors criticized but at the same time they took some part of the method to develop new ones.
